SHDA Awards Hoffman Memorial Scholarship to IML Security Supply Manager Art Cornay

 Cornay

The Security Hardware Distributors Association (SHDA) is pleased to announce the winner of the annual Al Hoffman Memorial Scholarship. This year’s winner is Art Cornay, who serves as the branch manager for IML Security Supply's Colorado location. The award will cover the registration costs to attend the four-day University of Innovative Distribution (UID) program presented by the Association Education Alliance in cooperation with Purdue University.

"I would like to take a few minutes of your time to humbly say thank you for the life changing honor of being awarded the Al Hoffman Memorial Scholarship for 2023", said Cornay. “In learning the skills at UID and implementing, I believe it will make me a better man, husband, father, leader and someone who will inspire hope in the next wave of leadership in our industry”.

With over 20 years of experience in the security hardware industry, Cornay is motivated to improve his leadership skills and be the best leader he can be. He is committed to ongoing self-reflection and personal growth, knowing that this will ultimately benefit both his team and his organization.

The scholarship is named in honor of SHDA Past President and Founder Al Hoffman, a leading figure in the security hardware industry and strong advocate for education. To recognize his contributions, SHDA created the scholarship to underwrite UID tuition to allow an SHDA distributor member to participate in this annual program.

This year’s UID will be held on March 13–16, 2023 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis, Indiana. The theme for the conference is “Distribute Innovation: Influence, Implement, and Integrate.” Known worldwide for excellence in education, it’s the only conference focused on the unique needs of the wholesale distribution industry. At the conclusion of the program, participants are issued credits that can be applied toward a Certificate of Innovative Distribution offered by Purdue University.
